News Flash: Corey Haim Dead at 38

Although I can't say that I'm very shocked, I'm still very sad to report that actor Corey Haim has died at the age of 38. Haim was found in Burbank, and it is now assumed that his death was caused by an accidental drug overdose.

Haim was famous for a number of movies he filmed in the 80s, "The Lost Boys" being one of his biggest films. Although he was famous for his film work, he was equally famous for being one half of "The Coreys," the other half being his best friend, actor Corey Feldman.

Apparently, Haim was trying to make an acting comeback and was involved in at least NINE seperate projects that are currently still in production.

I don't always report on celebrity deaths on my site, but at one time Corey Haim WAS pop culture, and that's what this site is about. This is how pop culture works; things become popular, and then they fade away. But if this site existed in the 80s, Corey Haim would have been featured on it, without a doubt.

RIP Corey Haim.

OMG: Brittany Murphy is Dead

Apparently Brittany Murphy, who starred in movies such as Clueless, Sin City, and 8 Mile died today after she went into cardiac arrest and could not be revived. Although it hasn't been officially reported yet, I think it's pretty safe to say that her death was drug-related.

It's widely known in Hollywood that she has been a drug addict for a longggggg time, and her husband was rumored to be her enabler/dealer.

Although she may have been a little "crazy," Brittany was a very talented actress, and I still quote all of her lines from Clueless DAILY.

I also loved her in Uptown Girls with Dakota Fanning, especially the "Molly Smiles" scene, which you can watch below:

So sad. RIP Brittany.

It has been reported that Brittany was found unconscious in her shower by her mother when the paramedics were called.

There was also reportedly a significant amount of vomit in the bathroom and shower. Apparently there were no illegal drugs found in the house, however (and not surprisingly) there were a TON of prescription meds found in the house, although the names of those medications are classified as of now.

Also, interestingly enough, Brittany's husband Simon Monjack told the staff at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center that he did NOT want an autopsy performed on Brittany. Hmmm....I WONDER WHY?!

Despite Simon's wishes, an autopsy is being performed on Brittany anyway, however it could take up to six weeks to get the toxicology reports back.

**Just for kicks, I'm posting another thing I'll always remember Brittany Murphy by: Her song "Faster Kill Pussycat" that she recorded with Paul Oakenfold in 2003.

She actually had an amazing voice.
